Hopes of an up move failed and Nifty closed in red on the last trading day of the year 2011. On Friday(30-12-11)Nifty opened at 4660 with a gain of 14 points, moved in the narrow range 4664 - 4690 up to 13:30, moved down there after to 4609 and closed at 4624 with a loss of 22 points. Nifty futures range was 4614 - 4709, having a difference of 95 points. Nifty closed in red on the last trading day of the year 2008 also.
