Warren Buffett's India visit stimulates stock market

International investment icon Mr.Warren Buffett's presence in India has stimulated Indian stock market and Nifty surged around 300 points breaking the range bound move, during the days he is in India. The fact that current month F&O series closes on 31st March, 2011 and FIIs and mutual funds generally try to boost their NAV at the end of financial year may also have contributed for the surge in Nifty.

On Friday(25-3-11)Nifty opened at 5589 with a gain of 67 points, moved in the range 5563 - 5583 till 1:00 p.m., surged to 5667 and closed at 5654 with a gain of 132 points, at the centre of M2. Though Nifty moving to centre of M2(5642) once it enters M2(above 5464)is quite logical, it was not expected since Nifty never breached 5610 level after 28th January, 2011. Now Nifty can move to top of M2(5797)during this week or reverse after moving above 5700. Nifty futures range was 5571 - 5693, having a difference of 122 points. Don't blame it on Super Moon alone!!!

The phenomenon, called lunar perigee or Supermoon, happens when the moon reaches its absolute closest point to Earth. On March 19, the Full Moon Day, the Moon will be only 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) away from our planet. There were Supermoons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005 and mild earth quacks around these dates and devastating tsunami on 26th Dec 2004. The 8.9 magnitude earth quack and resultant tsunami in Japan on 11th March, 2011(last Friday)cannot be attributed to Super Moon alone. The planetary positions on 19th March 2011 is given above. It can be seen that the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury is in Pisces and Moon and Saturn in Virgo (180° to Pisces). That is, the Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn, Moon and Earth coming in a straight line and the cause of the disaster may be a combined effect. Mars is in Aquarius and Venus is in Capricornus, near to the said straight line. The combined effect of all these celestial bodies may cause positional shift in the molten lava beneath the crust of earth that may move the tectonic plates causing earth quacks and tsunami. So, more vigil is required for the next two weeks to avoid casualties. May Lord Mahadev give all powers to the Japanese brothers and sisters to overcome the great disaster.

On Friday(11-3-11) Nifty opened at 5451 with a loss of 43 points, moved up to 5503, moved downwards to 5412 on seeing devastating tsunami slamming Japanese coasts after the 8.9 magnitude earth quack, recovered to 5450 and closed 5445 with a loss of 49 points. Hara Hara Shambho Mahadeva

According to Hindu Puranas, during the great mythical churning of the ocean called Samudra Manthan, a pot of poison emerged from the ocean. The gods and the demons were terrified as it could destroy the entire world. When they ran to Shiva for help, he in order to protect the world, drank the deadly poison but held it in his throat instead of swallowing it. This turned his throat blue, and since then he came to be known as 'Nilkantha', the blue-throated one. Shivratri celebrates this event by which Shiva saved the world.

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiva, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalguna. It falls on a moonless February/March night, when Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction. Shivratri (Sanskrit 'ratri' = night) is the night when he is said to have performed the Tandava Nritya or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. The festival is observed for one day and one night only. This years Maha Shivratri is being celebrated today(2nd March 2011).

It is auspicious to hear "Om Namah Shivaya" bhajan today
