Onam is being celebrated by not only Malayalees world over, but also their well wishers. Onam is an astronomical event that repeats once in every year when Moon transits to "Thiruvonam" star(280 - 293°)in Capricornus Rasi(constellation)while the Sun is in Leo(120 - 150°). Thus Onam nights ensures Moon light which everybody loves. Onam nights at beaches where a large stretch of white sand is there - banks of Bharathappuzha near Shornur or Muzhuppilangadu beach in Kannur - are spots of beauty. During this day it is believed that Mahabhali, the King of bye gone era visits Kerala to spread happiness and prosperity. Let happiness and prosperity be with you through out this season.
