In Astrology, to find out "Papa" or "ill factor" 1,2,4,7,8 and 12th positions from Lagna(based on Sun's position), Chandra(Moon) and Shukra(Venus)are considered. Positions to be counted clock-wise and Malayalam Astrological year starts from Medam (Aries), shown as second column from top left corner (dark green)in the chart. Further it is assumed that Zero degree is at the beginning of the Medam and each segment is having an uniform width of 30 degrees. Like needles on the clock, on completion of 12 segments it covers a full circle or 360 degrees. Above mentioned positions start from the segments where Lagna,Chandra & Shukra are positioned and in our normal counting the positions will be one less ie. 0,1,3,6,7 and 11. These positions converted in to degrees is having correlations with the degrees mentioned by W.D. Gann, the noted American Stock Market wizard. Details are shown in the chart given below. In the chart starting position(0 to 30 degrees) is painted dark green, 180 to 210 degrees light green, 90 to 120 degrees & 270 to 300 degrees in tea leaf color. Chart also shows the planetary positions as on the beginning of Makaram(Capricornus). During the last two years there was a down ward movement of Nifty when Sun is in Makaram (270 to 300 degrees) and hence cautioned on Thursday's post. When Budhan(Mercury) also enters Makaram on 5th February,2010 the adverse factors may be complete.
These observations are based on the last two years planetary positions only and it may or may not agree with the traditional astrological predictions. Traditional astrologers may kindly excuse and avoid any arguments. This post is just to mention the correlation of Astrology followed in Kerala and Gann's findings.

My above reasoning is based on
1. you have missed all important 5, 6, 9 and 11 house to find out papa factor.
1. one's purva punya is very important as horo is based on past karma playing out in this birth...which is why 5th and to see his bhagya based on his purva punya in this birth, 9th is essential which is 5 to his 5th house...third how is profits and gains in this birth will be known from 11th which 7th to his 5th and 3rd to his 9th...
2. essentially lagna is the degree of ascendent rising on the eastern horizon...the concept is extended taking sun, moon and sukra posited houses as first house and results are seen..all are different.
3. In lagna, either all or none of the planets be there...but still lagna is lagna..
4. In kerala astrology, the only difference is they do consider the position of mandi, kulikan etc which is ignored mostly by other astrologers..so as such there is no major difference between hindu astrology and kerala astrology.
5. About market direction, already indicated caution in justnifty blog comments some three days ago when nifty made high of 5311 as that day planetary combinations are no supportive to hold the trend..

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- International stock markets tumbled Friday over concerns about the debt crisis in several European nations.
Global markets plunged across the board. The FTSE in London and the DAX in Frankfurt both fell more than 1% in midday trading amid fears of potential credit defaults by Portugal, Spain and Greece.
Japan's Nikkei index ended nearly 3% lower, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index tumbled 3.3%.
European debt concerns riled Wall Street on Thursday, dragging down the Dow by 268 points. U.S. futures were down on Friday, indicating that Wall Street could take another hit.
Indian Markets also ended 2.61% down. Nifty lost 126 points.

Thank you for bringing this observation again to Nandi's attention. Nandi was busy with grahasangamam and Kalki this year. However on verification the same market fall occurred this year also. On January 20th Budha(Mercury) also entered Makaram(Capricorn) and Nifty high on 21-1-19 was 10987. On 29-1-19 Nifty low was 10584 a loss of 400 points in Nifty.
As per Nandi's observation, except the 4321 Satha Varsha all other factors favoring the incarnation of Kalki Avtar. Similar to Financial year, Calendar year Kolla year(Malayalam) if there is Satha (say Sathavahana) year that aspect is also justified. Hope you may go through it.
