31st December,2009 - Special in many respects

Today(30-12-09)after moving in a narrow range of 37 points, Nifty closed at 5169 with a loss of 19 points. Tomorrow's Agni level is at 5291 near the centre of Sudha Madhyamam. 31st December,2009 is a special day in many respects as given below and market may witness surprise movements.
1. Last trading day of the year having F& O settlement.
2. A "Blue Moon" day - Second full moon in a calendar month, a rare event.
3. Partial lunar eclipse occurs between 12.18 to 1.25 midnight. Lunar eclipse starts just 18 minutes after the start of New year 2010 in India.

Nifty closes flat at 5188 (R20A4)

Nifty closed flat at 5188 (R20A4 - same as Thursday). Tomorrow's Agni level is 5229, which is above the Nifty close today and hence warrants caution.

Expect centre of Sudha Madhyamam (5286)

On 24th December,2009 Nifty closed at 5178 with a gain of 33 points after breaking the earlier high of 5183 and reaching 5198. The following was the post dated 6th December, 2009."As the low of 10 day range 5038 - 5183 has already been broken, high may also be broken and Nifty may close at the centre of Sudha Madhyamam (5286) before the end of 2009." Now the upper limit has also broken. So, expect 5286 before the end of year 2009, once the psychological barrier 5200 is broken.
Tomorrow's Agni level is at 5121.

Fantastic Santa Claus Rally - Nifty in Sudha Madhyamam

Yesterday was the lowest range and swaram in single stage "Pa". Today not only yesterdays shrinkage covered, but more than normal rise with 160 points gain (Nifty close at 5145) and swarams "Da,Ni,Sa & Ri". If Nifty moves above "Ga" (5192), then definitely centre of Sudha Madhyamam (5286) can be expected. As said earlier , the day Mangal(Mars) went "vakri" (retrograge) ie. 21st December, 2009 was the turn around day and that day's close at centre of Anthara Gandharam (4960)was the base for today's up move. Forth coming holidays does not seem an issue at all as feared in yesterday's post. If it is, it will be reflected tomorrow.

Nifty range lowest - just 26 points

Today(22-12-09)moving in a very narrow range of 4971 - 4997, Nifty closed at 4986 with a gain of 33 points. Nifty futures range was the lowest (4967 - 5000; difference of just 33 points)since February, 2009. Tomorrow's Agni level is at 4944. As there is four days continuous trading holiday from 25th December, 2009 the strength of upward movement will be limited. A close again in the centre of Anthara Gandharam (4960)during this week also cannot be ruled out.
